Hi! My name is Maria Dijkgraaf. 25 years ago I was born in a small village in Drenthe, in the North of Holland. Soon it was not only outdoor life that inspired me, but from the age of 7 also the cello and later I studied Dutch literature. In 2012 I moved to Amsterdam, the city where I am still working at the moment.
Language and music are an indispensable part of my life and I would therefore like to spread them as much as possible. The combination of my literature studies and playing in different orchestras (including the UvA Orchestra J.Pzn Sweelinck) has ensured that I have become fascinated by ways in which people bring their objects of study / interpretation / creation into the limelight, and in particular the differences that exist between different disciplines. Since this - making music accessible to everyone - is what the Ricciotti Ensemble does, I am very curious about and can’t wait for my first tour in May 2019!
