Ricciotti's Eeuwige Radiotoer30 Apr till 5 May ’19

In 2019 it is exactly one hundred years ago that the Frisian radio pioneer Hanso Idzerda broadcast the first ever radio broadcast in the world from his home in The Hague. A huge step in the development of the media, perhaps the biggest breakthrough since the invention of printing. An idea that would have an enormous impact on our daily life, but also on the development of music.

During the Eternal Radio Tour, the Ricciotti, accompanied by soloist Henk Kraaijeveld, will dive into a world full of nostalgia, in which the radio was the central point of the living room and for many people a new sound world was presented. We play a lot of repertoire from the heyday of the radio. Of course we also connect the here and now, by using modern technologies and ways in which future generations take new information.

Soloists

Our soloist this tour is vocalist Henk Kraaijeveld. He is a very versatile jazz singer and composer. In 2013 he won both the public and the jury prize of the Dutch Jazz Vocalist Competition. The jury praised his relaxed appearance with which he easily made contact with the public. His vocal versatility, charisma and fondness for concerts in a social context make him a very suitable soloist for Ricciotti.
