Quick to: Overview performances | Soloist | Repertoire | Members | Tourjournaal | Funds
The world is warming up, resources are running out, and mountains of waste are growing. It is high time to sound the musical alarm. That is why the Ricciotti Ensemble is embarking this autumn on Ricciotti’s Recycle Rondgang. Because throwing things away and starting over is by no means always necessary. Many items can be given a second life, and the same goes for music. In fact, composers and musicians have been masters of reuse for centuries. During this tour, you will hear Brazilian music performed on percussion made from recycled waste, and we will play Shostakovich's Eighth String Quartet, which constantly features his own musical signature.
Composer Tijn Wybenga wrote the piece Despertemos Humanidad!especially for us. In addition, the singer-songwriter duo Clean Pete will be joining the tour as soloists. With vocals, guitar, and cello, they effortlessly navigate between pop and classical music. The Great Arranging Competition will also take place once again, putting all (future) arrangers in the spotlight. In this way, this autumn tour becomes a musical quest for creative possibilities within what already exists, as we try to contribute in our own way to a cleaner and better world—everywhere and for everyone.

Soloist
Singer-songwriter duo Clean Pete are the soloists during Ricciotti’s Recycle Rondgang.
When and why did you start making music?
Ricciotti performs in many different places. What is one of the craziest places you've ever played?
We once performed in bikinis in a swimming pool: we were standing on a stage, and the audience was floating in the water.
Which artist (living or dead) would you like to have a coffee with, if you could?
We both love having coffee with artists, and we do it often!
Renée immediately thinks of Lucie Horsch. She has never spoken to her, but thinks she is absolutely fantastic. She also feels the same about Emma Watson. And Taylor Swift. And she would love to have writer George Saunders as a spiritual leader – or just to have a very long conversation for an evening about Russian writers and about experiencing creative energy!
Loes would love to have coffee with Anja Meulebelt and have a personal conversation with her, because she thinks she is a wonderful writer. Meulebelt writes about topics that Loes is also interested in, such as feminism and activism.
And Leonardo DiCaprio, of course!
